American College of Radiology - Founded in 1924, the American College of Radiology is a professional medical society dedicated to serving patients and society by empowering radiology professionals to advance the practice, science and professions of radiological care. Since 1987, the ACR has accredited more than 35,000 facilities in 10 imaging modalities. ACR offers accreditation programs in CT, MRI, breast MRI, nuclear medicine and PET.
College of American Pathologists - The 18,000-member College of American Pathologists (CAP), headquartered in Northfield, Illinois, inspects and accredits medical laboratories under deemed authority of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Currently, the CAP accredits more than 7,600 laboratories globally, including hospital laboratories as well as commercial laboratories and contract research organizations. FACT establishes standards for high quality medical and laboratory practice in cellular therapies.
